To expose and to know the real value of skills to the youngsters, Don Tech Centers located in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana celebrated World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) on July 15, 2019. Don Bosco Tech Centers in these states celebrated the day with different activities at the center level.

The centre team organized skill competition for the trainees and certification distribution (for Alumni).  Sr. Denin Mary (Center Head, Don Bosco Tech Guntur) started the event by inviting the guest of honor Mr. Vinod Kumar (State MIS & Placement Coordinator, Don Bosco Tech Society), Sr. Mary Kumari (Project Manager, Ramachandrapuram, JMJ Congregation), Sr. Lucy (Health and Safety Coordinator, JMJ Congregation) and Sr. Saritha (Finance Manager, JMJ Congregation).

Mr. Vinod Kumar addressed the trainees and said, “Life is very short and opportunities knocks at the door at least once in everyone’s life. We must think that if we are really using that opportunity or not. We are very disappointed with the government in all the aspects but think once before blaming the Govt. I request all the young people gathered here kindly go and see the outside world, the organizations need multi-talented people like you. So kindly make use of skill training program provided to you and use your skills to get a job.”

Later, he organized an activity which mainly focused on team work and participation in each work we do in real time every day. After this, the certificates were distributed and the event concluded by vote of thanks delivered by Sr. Denin Mary.
